FUTURE
WELCOME CENTER
With the
age and condition of the former Welcome Center building no
longer conducive to the operations of the camp, the desk
of the camp registrar was moved to Sandstone Plaza [Conference
Building] to serve as our (temporarily permanent!) Welcome
Center. The Camp and Conference Team is in the process of
raising funds to help with the construction of a brand new
Welcome Center to better serve the needs of camp. **If you would
like to find out about how you can help with this project when
we break ground please contact the camp office.** |

HIKING TRAILS
Hike the
paths winding along the ridges of the Ozarks! Laced with, oak,
walnut, sycamores, and plenty of wildlife, these trails are
perfect for getting a first hand look at the native flora and
fauna that Missouri has to offer.
The River
Trail goes alongside the river beginning at the south end of the
play fields, leading to a small cave in a bluff where turkey
vultures nest, and on to a sideless log bridge over a low
ravine, then back up to the entrance of the camp. This is a
difficult trail, about 3 miles long.
The Loop
Trail begins and ends on Mound Ridge Road opposite the entrance
to Mound Ridge. This is a moderate trail, about 1.5 miles
long.
The Veach
Memorial Trail goes through the woods connecting the road near
the north end of the Lodge with the area by the site manager's
house. Trees along the trail are identified by clearly marked
signs. This trail is dedicated to the memory of Eleanor
Veach and her husband Leroy, who was site manager at Mound Ridge
for over two decades. It is a moderate trail, about
0.7 miles long. |
